About NepBoli

Our Mission

NepBoli is a crowdsourced dictionary dedicated to preserving and sharing Nepali slang, street talk, and everyday expressions that traditional dictionaries overlook. We believe language is alive—it evolves in tea shops, college campuses, and street corners long before it reaches textbooks.

Our goal is to document the authentic way Nepalis speak, creating a resource that helps people understand the real Nepal beyond formal language.

Why "NepBoli"?

The name combines "Nep" (Nepal/Nepali) with "Boli" (बोली), which means speech, dialect, or way of speaking in Nepali. Together, NepBoli represents the authentic voice of Nepali people—the words we actually use, not just the ones taught in classrooms.
